Re-enactment at Abbey

VISITORS to Arbroath Abbey will have the chance to see the Declaration of Arbroath being signed next weekend.

On June 9 and 10 performances will show Scotland’s nobles swear their independence from England in the declaration, which is arguably the most famous document in Scottish history.

This event, for all the family, also includes weaponry displays and calligraphy demonstrations.

It runs from noon till 4 p.m., and is included in the Abbey’s normal admission price of adults £5.50, concessions £4.40, and children £3.30.

Admission is free to Historic Scotland members.
