A home design firm is mixing business with pleasure in its bid to help the Fireworks for Arbroath team put on a great show this Bonfire Night.
Kitchen, bedroom and bathroom specialist CNG Design will be opening a pop-up showroom in Arbroath and they will also be doing their bit to raise funds for the 2016 Arbroath fireworks display.
Chris Graham, owner and sales director of the Laurencekirk based firm, said: “The Abbeygate is the prime location to have our showcase, it’s in with some bigger high street names and you have shelter when it’s pouring with rain. If it all goes well we will definitely come back.
“Whenever we do close all the displays will be sold off at the price I paid for them, it’s a great chance for a bargain. We’re not looking to make money, if we make the money back then happy days.”
The firm has close ties to the town, with Chris originally from Arbroath and his brother and colleague Robert still living here. Therefore it seemed a natural thing for them to give a little back given the opportunity.
Chris explained: “CNG is providing the star prize for the Fireworks for Arbroath grand prize draw raffle, a £500 voucher towards one of their kitchens, bathrooms or bedrooms. It’s a genuine prize. We don’t do sales throughout the year, we just give an honest price.”
Karren Cuthill, chair of Fireworks for Arbroath 2016 was delighted with the prize donation and also the chance for fireworks volunteers to do a bucket collection at the opening day of the CNG Design showroom on September 3.
She added: “In terms of outgoings we have already paid for our insurance, first aid and the 10 per cent deposit to secure pyrotechnics company 21CC. So the actual money we have raised would be in the region of around £9700, but the more money we can raise, the better the display will be.
“Hopefully the people of Arbroath will continue to be as generous as they have been and we can look forward to another fantastic show.”
