Teenagers across Angus are casting their votes in the battle to see which title will win the coveted Angus Book Award 2014.

Over the last few months, they have read and discussed the books and are now deciding on their favourite title from the five books in contention for the award. The results will be kept a secret until the award ceremony on Tuesday, May 20. All shortlisted authors will be visiting schools on that day to meet pupils and talk about their books but the name of the winner will not be revealed until announced at the evening award ceremony in Monifieth High School.

This year the shortlist features novels by two authors new to the Angus Book Award, and previous shortlisted author Phil Earle. The three shortlisted titles are: ‘Heroic’, Phil Earle; ‘The Night Sky in My Head’, Sarah Hammond; ‘The Savages’, Matt Whyman.

The event will be supported by sponsors Micro Librarian Systems and Scotia Books.
