Dressed as sweetheart Snow White, five-year-old charity-minded Poppy had 11 ½ inches of her long locks chopped off for charity on Monday.
Supported by Granny, big brother Aaron, baby brother Noah and her mummy, Poppy Smith took her seat in the hairdressers chair after committing to have her hair cut off to donate to the Princess Trust.
Poppy’s mum, Kayleigh, said: “I felt quite nervous in the morning and kept asking Poppy how she felt, was she nervous yet? But no, she just smiled and shook her head.”
Hairdresser at One To One, Elaine Curry took care of the business end of the day, opening up her shop just for Poppy’s special event.
“Elaine took great care tying Poppy’s hair back and making sure the cut was good to go,” Kayleigh explained. “She really made sure Poppy would have a lovely hairstyle at the end as well as long beautiful locks to donate. She was fantastic!”
Poppy dressed up for the event as her favourite Disney princess, Snow White, grinning and laughing throughout the experience. “She had no nerves or worries,” Kayleigh said. “She was amazing. Such a star.”
