Local action was initiated by Radical Independence (Angus) on Saturday, in line with a global campaign to stop a Transatlantic Trade Investment Policy being signed off.

The policy has raised controversy from it’s inception. Mike Weir SNP Candidate for Angus said: “There are concerns in many areas of environmental policies and it has been suggested that area of origin food labelling could be attacked as a restraint on trade, something that would be a disaster for Scottish agriculture. One of the major difficulties with TTIP is the secrecy that surrounds the negotiations and there needs to be far more openness about the matter and clarity on its impacts. I certainly could not support TTIP in it’s present form.”
