A man has been detained following a “disturbance” in Arbroath yesterday.
Officers were called to Arbroath Railway Station and Robert Street at around 6.40pm yesterday (Friday, March 11).
A spokesperson for Police Scotland declined to reveal the nature of the incident.
It is understood bars and businesses in the area were told by police to lock their doors last night.
The spokesperson said: “A man has been detained following a disturbance at Arbroath Railway Station and Robert Street, Arbroath, which occurred at approximately 6.40pm on Friday, March 11.
“As a result of the incident a cordon was put in place in the area of Robert Street and specialist officers assisted local policing units in managing the incident, which was swiftly brought to a safe conclusion.
“There is no further information at this time.”
The cordon and associated road closures were stood down after 9pm last night.
