Proving that long hours of practise can reap great rewards are the members of Arbroath RBLS pipe band, who were named British Champions at the weekend.
The band travelled through to Bathgate to take part in the British Pipe Band Championships which saw bands from all over the country – and Northern Ireland - gather to compete in the various grades.
Arbroath RBLS compete in Grade 4a and were delighted to take top spot.
Pipe major Stephen Russell said: ”The proudest moment for us all was hearing our name called out in first place.
“A lot of hard work, dedication and teamwork have proved that it’s all been worthwhile.
“A massive thanks to everyone involved in our pipe band family.”
Lead drummer Paul Weir added: “This just goes to show what we can achieve with weeks of hard work.
“We keep going and work hard because I’m sure everyone wants to have this feeling again.”
The band members now have a few more weeks of practise before they head up to Forres to take part in the European Championships at the end of June.
