Arbroath Relay For Life dramatically revealed this evening (Friday) that this year’s fund-raising grand total is in excess of £150,000.
The total of £155,026.75 was announced at a special wrap party hosted by O’Brien’s Pleasureland for invited guests.
Chairman for the Arbroath Relay For Life committee Ian Angus said: “This has been a record breaking year for Relay in Arbroath and it is difficult to find the words that do justice to the many people who made this happen.
“I have run out of superlatives to describe our amazing, fantastic, phenomenal relayers and a town that has done so much to support this great cause of ours. To have been a part of something so special has been the experience of a lifetime.”
All the money raised by Arbroath Relay For Life supports the work of Cancer Research UK and has been an incredibly popular and well-subscribed fund-raising event for several years.
It is understood that Arbroath’s fund-raising total for this year places it in the top three of all Relays held in Scotland.
