ANGUS Council will host a meeting between Sir Peter Housden, Permanent Secretary at the Scottish Government and Scotland’s most senior civil servant, and members of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce in the Municipal Buildings in Forfar on Friday.
The private meeting will allow Sir Peter and a representative cross-section of Chamber members from across Angus and Dundee to discuss issues that are of importance to the local and national economy.
Procurement, planning, infrastructure investment, skills and support for manufacturing are just some of the subjects that are likely to be raised with the Permanent Secretary, in what will be a very wide ranging discussion.
Jim Pickett, president of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce, said: “Sir Peter Housden is the principal policy adviser to the First Minister and Secretary to the Cabinet, and he is very influential in shaping the Scottish Government’s policies.
“We are delighted that he has accepted an invitation to meet our members and we are looking forward to a very positive and productive session with him.”
