THE ARBROATH Relay for Life is just one week away but organisers say there is still time to get involved.
The 24-hour event is due to be held next Saturday (September 22) in aid of Cancer Research UK at Arbroath United Cricket Club.
Already 22 teams have signed up to take part and a whole host of entertainment has been arranged for the public and participants to enjoy.
And now Alana Loudon, chair of the organising committee, is urging everybody to pay the event a visit and show their support.
She said: “The relay is something that really gets the community involved and it would be great if people could come out and support us on the day.
“We are still really keen for cancer survivors to get in touch and come along and take part in the survivors’ lap, which is the first lap of the day.
“We would also love to see carers or anybody who has looked after somebody with cancer as they also are very welcome to join in.”
Several bands including Beardy with a Hat, Skylight Secrets and Smokehouse are also set to perform at the relay on Saturday.
There will also be salsa and zumba sessions for everybody to take part in and performances by Mania Dance group.
Saturday’s events conclude with the candle of hope ceremony, remembering those who have lost their lives to the disease.
