AN ARBROATH group held a rather spooky Christmas party in a castle last week.
On Sunday, Badgers and Cadets from the Arbroath Company of St Andrew’s First Aid, parents and grandparents visited Mains Castle, Dundee.
They were welcomed by Laird John Spratt who told the story of a former lord of the castle, ‘Laird McScrooge’.
The group visited the 15th century tower at the castle where the story continued with the help of ‘McScrooge’ himself!
The party then began in earnest, with games and a buffet provided by Lady Erin Gray of Mains Castle.
The children and adults all enjoyed an evening of spookiness and fun, before heading to the Great Hall where Santa Claus handed out presents.
A spokesperson for the Badgers said: “What a fantastic night. We would like to thank Laird Spratt and Lady Gray of Mains Castle for a great party.
“Thanks also goes to Kev McCaffray for his participation in the event. Thanks must also go to Company Commandant, Brian Fairweather and the parents and grandparents for providing the transport.”
Badgers and Cadets are now on holiday and will meet again on Wednesday, January 9.
