Partnership aims to get things done

ARBROATH and Area Partnership is looking forward to a busy 2011 with projects including celebrations to mark the bicentenary of the Bell Rock Lighthouse, a marketing strategy for local shops and clifftop safety initiative on the agenda.

The partnership is a local group aiming to make the Arbroath area a better place to live in by getting things done.

Members share their ideas and expertise to identify projects which will enhance the community and investigate how they can be funded.

Project ideas come from member organisations and local people, and current initiatives include the following.

l Year of the Light 2011 project - the bicentenary of the Bell Rock Lighthouse.

l The Arbroath town centre regeneration strategy.

l A collective marketing strategy for Arbroath shops.

l A strategy to attract hotel providers to Arbroath.

l Community involvement in the cinema and film programme in the Webster Memorial Theatre.

l The Arbroath cliff top safety group project.

l Celebrating Tartan Day in the Arbroath area.

Any individual or organisation can join the partnership, and a wide range of organisations are currently represented, including community and voluntary organisations, and statutory agencies.

Becoming involved in the partnership gives you an opportunity to influence how your community develops. The work of the partnership is supported by the Arbroath and Area local community planning team.

Anyone interested in the future of Arbroath and its surrounding area is invited to get involved and everyone is most welcome.
