Angus Council have confirmed that the West Links paddling pool will be open this summer.
The pool was barely in use during the warmer months last year despite the beach front area enjoying a £500,000 upgrade with a brand new state of the art playpark.
Local man Wallace Ferrier raised concerns about the state of the paddling pool by providing two pictures one of the current state and one of the pool six years ago.
And the difference is remarkable.
He explained: “Well I blinked and missed springtime, but as the summer is just around the corner, I would like to say a few things about the tourist attractions in Arbroath.
“Unfortunately the paddling pool looks unsightly and is often half filled with dirty rain water and dare I say could this be a health and safety issue?
“The paddling pool I believe lay empty last summer, come on Angus Council let’s open the paddling pool this year.”
However, a spokeswoman for Angus Council confirmed: “The paddling pool is being painted in the next couple of weeks in time for its opening in the first week in June for the summer.”
