A FORMER Arbroath lady has been chosen to carry the Olympic Torch through her adopted town of Newmarket, Suffolk.
Cheryl Scotland-Wigg (34) moved south more than 10 years ago.
The family previously lived in Glebe Road and Cheryl attended Inverbrothock Primary School and Arbroath High School. She was also a member of the Town Mission Girls’ Brigade and worked as a volunteer at the Mission.
She was nominated to carry the torch by her colleagues at the BP Garage in Newmarket where she works for her fund-raising activities on behalf of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths.
