The Balhousie Monkbarns and Antiquary care homes in Arbroath took part in their own special Olympic torch relay celebration when a handmade version visited the homes as it made its way round all the premises in Scotland.
The torch began its journey with a ceremony at the Wheatlands home in Bonnybridge and is working its way round the remaining 23 homes and Balhousie headquarters before returning to Wheatlands today (Friday), to coincide with the beginning of the Olympics.
Each home marked the arrival of the torch with a special party at which residents enjoyed a range of activities to help promote an active lifestyle, as well as some light refreshments.
Betty Hill showed off the Olympic torch at Monkbarns Care Home during their Olympic day last Saturday.
Antiquary House staff and residents celebrated the Olympics with a torch party last Thursday. After the picture was taken the torch was taken round the home for all to see.
