The ever-popular annual charity boxing event took place last Friday evening in the Arbroath Community Centre.
The event was organised by John Cooper and Marti Johnstone.
The referee for the bouts was Mike Holm and the compere was Eric Buick; three beautiful girls Sam Monaghan, Louise Berrie and Kathryn Fenton took the duty of ‘Ring Girls’ holding up the round numbers.
The ringside medic was Ian McManus.
One spectator at the event was 34-year-old Olie Back, who hails from Perth, Western Australia, and he was there with his lovely fiancée Kerri Bruce, from Arbroath.
While Olie came to Scotland to visit his fiancée and her family, he also wanted to take part in The Drumtochty Highland Games last Saturday in the heavy lifting events.
He mentioned he wishes to earn his “Bruce Tartan” as its his fiancée’s family name. Olie and Kerri will get married at Carnoustie next year on July 10.
Olie is pictured with his female supporters in the boxing ring, his fiancée Kerri is the one with her arms around his neck.
The amateur boxers had fun taking part and trained well to put on a great show for their worthwhile charities. The full boxing results are as follows:
Liam Scott defeated Tommy Kelbie, Susan Simpson defeated Suzie Wonnacott, Colin Grant v Ryan Griffis ended in a draw, Erin Dewar defeated Nicole Cassidy, Kieran McGuigan defeated Calum Stewart, Marie Matthews v Cara Forbes ended in a draw, Andy Taylor defeated Mark Johnston, Connor Johnstone defeated Kevin Watt, Gareth Johnson defeated Mike Scott andStacey Walker defeated Lois Simpson.
