ANOTHER successful fund-raising weekend for Brooke’s Dream saw dozens of local people turnout to show their support.
As October draws rapidly to a close, the events diary continues to fill, and already there are several fund-raiser’s organised for November.
On Friday night there was a ‘Ladies’ Night’ in the Kinloch Arms Hotel, Carnoustie, organised by Fran Kidd and Kerry Noble which raised £1,134 through the sale of cosmetics and other beauty products on show.
Also, Ian Macfarlane ran the third of his four half marathons on the Sunday, this time between Dundee and Arbroath, his final run will take place this Sunday.
Brooke’s father, Stewart said: “I’ll be going down to Jedburgh to watch Ian run his last half marathon, and thank him personally for his efforts.”
Also this weekend, Brooke’s Dream will be hosting two Hallowe’en parties, one in the Beach Hall and one in the Scout Hall on Links Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
Stewart added: “The kids are really looking forward to the Hallowe’en parties. All kids love parties, but the fact that they’re raising money for Brooke too, makes it even better in their eyes.”
The parties have been organised by Helen Ruddie and Lesley Ritchie, Stewart said: “We know Helen just from the school gate, and Lesley is involved with the ‘Banana bunch’ kids group.
“They’ve obviously heard about our campaign and just jumped in to help out with what they know best.”
He added: “We’re all just so happy with the way things are going just now. We can’t thank people enough for all they’re doing.”
