Scrummy Angus bakers JM Bakery have scooped a silver award in the World Scotch Pie Competition.

Awarded for their chilli con carne pies, they are no stranger to recognition for many innovative and delicious offerings over the years.

With shops on Arbroath, Carnoustie and Monifieth high streets, director and baker extraordinaire Mark Robb is delighted: “This just confirms to us that what we are doing is appreciated and means we are on the right track with our customers.

“We were pitted against butchers and bakers from throughout Scotland and I am extremely proud of what we do at JM Bakery.”

Mark entered the chilli pie into the hot savoury category and is pleased it was recognised by judges.

He is constantly trying to add new and tasty delights to the menu and is often inspired by tried and tasted combinations that just need a tweak here and there before, being encased in delicious flaky pastry.
