Angus Council has confirmed that new rugby posts will be installed at Arbroath High School.
It follows a reader contacting the Herald to ask why the posts, the only ones in Arbroath had been removed yet the football posts still remained.
And it seems that vandalism is to blame for the delay in them being erected after they were taken away for summer.
A spokeswoman from Angus Council said: “We usually remove the rugby posts during the summer to allow the pitches to recover and some grass re-seeding to be done, in readiness for the new season. However this year we are having to purchase new posts as the old ones have been so badly damaged they can’t be re-used.”
