Montrose Academy’s depute head has stepped in as headmaster at Arbroath High School.
Bruce Pandrich took over the post of headteacher on Monday, following the suspension of the school’s head Gillian Rew four months ago.
It is understood that Mrs Rew remains the subject of a criminal inquiry after she was charged over allegations relating to an autumn school trip. She was suspended from her post by Angus Council in the wake of claims made following a sixth-year trip to Lockerbie in September.
In November, Police confirmed that a 47-year-old woman had been charged in connection with an incident on September 21 at Lockerbie. They have not revealed the nature of the charge Mrs Rew is facing.
