ANGUS Council has appointed two new strategic directors as part of a management overhaul.
It was announced on Thursday that Margo Williamson has been appointed strategic director for people.
She joins Angus Council from South Ayrshire Council, where she is head of service for education.
Meanwhile, Mark Armstrong has been appointed strategic director for resources.
He is currently head of development for education and skills at North Ayrshire Council.
Both will join Angus Council in April.
Commenting on the appointments council leader Iain Gaul said: “I am delighted that Margo and Mark are joining Team Angus as part of our new executive management team; their experience and expertise will be an asset to the council.
“They join us at an exciting time as we focus on improving our services to residents and our business processes.
“Together with the chief executive and Alan McKeown, our new strategic director for communities, Margo and Mark will lead this programme of improvement.”
The council is moving to a new three department structure on April 1.
The people department will focus on integrated services for individuals and families, while communities will be concerned with services and facilities in communities.
The resources department will look after the services that support the business of the council.
Angus Council’s head of housing, Alan McKeown, takes up his new role as strategic director, Communities on April 1.
The council agreed to move towards a new structure a meeting last April.
