LOCAL beer drinkers can look forward to a new range of real ales with the launch of a new Angus micro-brewery.

MòR Brewing beers are on sale from Monday, (May 7), at the Lochlands Bar, Arbroath; the Milton Inn, Monifieth; the Royal Arch, Broughty Ferry; and the Speedwell Bar, Dundee.

The brainchild of former Broughty Ferry lifeboat coxswain Jim Hughan and business partner Ross Niven, MòR Brewing Limited is based in Kellas, on the outskirts of Dundee.

Speaking before Friday’s launch, Jim Hughan said: “Demand for quality Scottish real ale is growing every year and we aim to make a big impression with our fine ales, hence the name MòR Brewing - MòR means ‘big’ or ‘great’ in Gaelic.”

Ross Niven, whose hospitality industry experience includes working at Gleneagles Hotel, added: “MòR Brewing will be marketing a range of top quality cask and bottled beers to suit all tastes.

“After all, our recipes are the product of many years of intensive research by both Jim and myself!”
