Arbroath Accordion and Fiddle Club welcomed a special guest to their latest meeting and made a donation from their recent open day.
Pastor Dave Webster from Arbroath Town Mission was there to accept a cheque for £508.75 from the club committee.
He said: “The Town Mission is extremely grateful for this contribution, which will greatly assist in the delivery of our support services to many of the townspeople in Arbroath who really need that little extra bit of help.”
The money was raised at the recent Accordion and Fiddle Open Day which was held in the Meadowbank Inn on the outskirts of Arbroath.
The Open Day, the idea of Avril Abbot, the vice chairman of the club, brought together local and visiting musicians, who played to a very appreciative audience in the afternoon and then visiting group The Bon Accords; who were joined by a few surprise guests, played for a mixed dance in the evening.
Over 100 people attended the events which were held on the Saturday, an Accordion and Fiddle Club first.
The event also received support from a number of local businesses, all of which contributed to the success of the day.
