An Arbroath singer/songwriter has been moved to organise a charity concert in aid of a young Angus girl who suffers from a rare cancer.
Cheryl Brown has organised a charity gig tonight (Friday) in Chalmers, Arbroath, in aid of five-year-old Lucy Wright from Kirriemuir who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma earlier this year.
Following treatment, the cancer has gone into remission but the Lucy Wright Fund was established in order to pay for future treatments and associated costs and all proceeds from the event will go into the pot.
The ‘Lucy Wright Acoustic Night’ will feature Cheryl alongside musicians Darren Campbell, Nathan Bellshaw and Two Thieves who will cover a wide range of musical styles from country and folk to original material.
Chalmers Arbroath have provided free use of their premises and have arranged for ticket printing, while businesses in the town have also donated raffle prizes.
Tickets are £5 and are available from Abbey Music, Kirk Square, Scooby Snacks, Mayfield Terrace, and on the door. Doors open at 8 p.m. with music from 9 p.m. to midnight.
