‘Broadway! A Musical Celebration’ is a must-see for any musical theatre fan so don’t miss it at Dundee Rep Theatre next month.

It will run from Wednesday, April 2 until Saturday, April 5 at 7.30 p.m, with a 2.30 p.m. matinee on Thursday and Saturday.

With West End singers, glitzy costumes and top class dancers, you will be transported to the bright lights of Broadway. Featuring songs from hit musicals including ‘Les Miserables’, ‘Cats’, ‘Hello Dolly’, ‘Mama Mia’, ‘Chicago’, ‘Cabaret’, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and many more this is your chance to experience the very best of Broadway - in one night.

With a talented cast including West End performers Kate Galston and Wayne Perrey who have worked extensively on stage and TV, this high energy concert brings you hit after show-stopping hit.

Kate Galston has appeared in numerous musicals playing many roles such as Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago’, Petula Clarke in ‘That’s Amore’ and Freda in ‘Dancing Queen’ (International tour and Monte Carlo).

Kate was lead vocalist and host in ‘Simply Ballroom’ where she made her West End debut at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Wayne Perrey is best known for his role in ‘Dalziel and Pascoe’ and has regularly appeared on TV in ‘Doctors’, ‘Holby City’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Emmerdale’.

Wayne has performed in many West End productions including ‘Bombay Dreams’, ‘Peggy Sue Got Married’, ‘Lautrec’ and ‘Rent’.

The younger audiences are not forgotten about when ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ is brought to the stage from Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6.

Based on the book by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort and adapted and directed by Adam Bampton-Smith, the stories are delightfully brought to life on stage for the very first time in a fresh and funny production that will delight the whole family.

The show is suitable for ages three and above and you are guaranteed to “laugh your pants off!”

An uplifting and surprising show about true love follows when Poorboy Theatre presents ‘Pirates and Mermaids’ on Wednesday, April 9 and Thursday, April 10 at 7.30 p.m.

Dundee Rep Ensemble will round off next month with its production of ‘Cars and Boys’ from Friday, April 11 to Saturday, April 26 at 7.30 p.m.

This is a blackly comic and profoundly moving portrait of a towering woman battling with her mortality.

Stuart Paterson is one of Scotland’s leading playwrights, best known for his much-loved versions of Christmas family shows at the Rep. ‘Cars and Boys’ has been written specifically for the actors of Dundee Rep Ensemble.

It will be performed in a transverse-seating auditorium on the main stage, providing an intimate theatrical experience at 7.30 p.m. nightly with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2.30 p.m.
