REHEARSALS are now under way for a two-night show produced by Edwina Barraclough and James Hutcheson with Richard Waghorn as musical director, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Arbroath Spitfire.
The aircraft, named ‘Red Lichtie’ on the cowling, was bought by local people who raised £5,000 through numerous fund-raising events in 1942.
A cast, which includes members of Angus Minstrels, Appolinari Dance Studio, Colette Dear, James Hutcheson, In Harmony Choir, Danny Laverty, Linda Napier School of Dance, Eileen Masson, Mark Masson and Violet Thomson will take to the stage of the Webster Memorial Theatre on Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8, for what promises to be a memorable two nights of singing and dancing.
Mrs Barraclough said: “The show will feature all the favourites from the Second World War era, interspersed with present day music.”
