An Arbroath teenager is taking the long way round to raise money for her school with a special challenge starting next week.

On Saturday, April 11, Morgen Cosgrove (13) will be taking time out of her own Easter holidays to tackle the West Highland Way in order to fund-raise for her school, Arbroath Academy.

Over five days Morgen, along with her father, grandfather, and neighbour, will walk all of the 96 miles between Milngavie and Fort William.

Morgen’s mum Susan said: “She’s been hillwalking for years and has done 13 munroes herself.

“All the money raised is going to Arbroath Academy.

“The generosity of all the people who have been donating to her, family, friends, and people from her paper round that she doesn’t even know, it’s been amazing.

“It’s so heartwarming that people are actually doing this.”

To date Morgen has raised around £800.

The West Highland Way is a popular but arduous choice for keen walkers, and can be tackled in sections or as a whole.
