An evening of mediumship, held at the Cliffburn Hotel on Sunday, August 23, has raised an incredible total of over £4000 for Grant Callachan, partner Michelle and their family.
In June, Grant, a 39-year-old physiotherapist at Arbroath Infirmary, received the devastating news that he has an inoperable brain tumour and may have only months to live.
Since that time, the father-of-two has been “humbled” by the support and generosity of the people of his home town, who have organised multiple fund-raising events to send him, Michelle and children Michael and Amiee on a last holiday together.
Former colleague Laura Ramsay, and friend Karen Stranock, set up a Fundraiser for Grant Facebook page and organised the mediumship night, all the tickets for which sold out in five days.
A delighted Laura told the Herald: “We raised a massive amount of £4130.77p for Grant, Michelle and family. The night was a huge success, going nonstop from start to finish, and we still can’t believe it raised that much.
“Karen Stranock and I would like to thank absolutely everyone involved from local businesses to “Bobbi at the Cliffie”! We are delighted and Grant and Michelle are both overwhelmed.
“We would just like to let everyone know that they have now got the money and have asked us to say a “massive” thank you to everyone who contributed to raising such an amazing amount.”
More money will be heading to the family when the proceeds from the Football Fundraiser, organised by Pete Bell, are totalled up and David Jack’s Quiz Night proceeds are added.
