As the opening of their 80th season looms, Arbroath Male Voice Choir has announced that their first website is now live.
Choir president Dr Richard Irvine said: “Our new website allows us to communicate to a wider audience and this is key to the continued growth and success of the choir.
“Visitors to the site can easily find out what we do and how to get in touch. New members will always be made most welcome.”
The website was designed by Angus College student Lisa Strachan as part of her HND in Interactive Media and Web Development.
Dr Irvine continued: “Lisa has been great and was integral to the success of the venture.
“She converted our ideas into computer code and used her web design knowledge to create both a visually pleasing and practical website for the choir.
“She was very professional and supportive throughout the project.”
He went on: “The website has allowed us to make some of our extensive archive material available to the public for the first time, for example a wonderful photo of the choir in 1934 and the programme of our first concert in the Webster Hall.
“This is of value to local historians and those researching their family history”
“The website is an ongoing project and more information and photos will be added over the coming months – if readers have any old pictures or memories they would like to share please get in touch via the contacts page.”
The address for the new website is: www.arbroathmalevoicechoir.co.uk
Arbroath Male Voice Choir currently has around 40 members drawn from across Angus and Dundee.
The new season starts on Monday, August 26, at 7.30 p.m. in Knox’s Church hall.
