An Arbroath councillor has welcomed the beginning of work on problem pavements in the town this week.
Independent councillor for Arbroath West and Letham Ewan Smith was pleased when Angus Council workers started repairing damaged paths in the Lochlands area on Tuesday.
He said: “I’m delighted to see work being done on the pavements at Lochlands Street.
“This is long overdue and will make a real difference to the day-to-day lives of the local residents.
“Many elderly residents in that street have come to me over the past year complaining over how dangerous the paths were.
“Some were nervous about leaving their own homes to go to the shops through fear of falling.”
