Two Arbroath organisations are set to star in a five part series on STV which will pay tribute to community heroes.

Both Darlings Coffee Shop in the town and Alan Soutar, who runs Angus Darts Academy at the CAFE Project will be feature in the programme.

Darlings has been nominated in the RBS Community Project of the Year category alongside two other nominees.

Meanwhile Alan Soutar is in the running for the Sporting Volunteer of the Year award.

At the end of each programme, viewers are invited to vote for the two nominees they believe most deserve to win a Scotland’s Real Heroes Award, with the overall winners being recognised at a celebrity-packed, televised awards ceremony later this year.

The new series will be shown later on in the year and will presented by Carol Smillie.

There will also be star reporters featured such as Taggart and Coronation Street star John Michie, comedian and presenter Fred MacAulay and STV presenters John MacKay and Sean Batty.
