Local award-winning butchers D H Robertson, Arbroath, have clinched further success at the Craft Butcher Awards this month.

Just in time for the warmer weather Steven Bennett and his team’s locally sourced fare has received the gold star of approval from judges at the nationwide competition judged at the City of Glasgow College.

Recognized for their innovation and flavour the two gold awards and two silver awards were presented to Mr Bennett at the Inchture Hotel on April 18:

“As a small shop we were really pleased, there were a lot of good entries.”

There has been a butcher shop on the site at Fisheracre since 1940 and Mr Bennet took the business over seven years ago.

Acclaimed for traditional recipes the team have also developed some inventive new blends such as Irn-Bru and chilli sausages.

“We try hard to come up with fresh ideas to excite our customers’ tastebuds. This proves that we have refined our recipes,” said Mr Bennett.
