Angus people are invited to an engagement event to discuss the needs and priorities of the rural and fisheries communities of the county as part of the new LEADER and European Maritime and Fisheries Fund 2014-2020.
Participants will hear about local priorities and opportunities to help strengthen rural and coastal communities and provide the basis for funding support for community-led action for the 2014-2020 programme.
They will also hear about the achievements of the 2007-2013 LEADER and European Fisheries Fund programmes in Angus and from projects that have benefited.
The events are open to the public and are taking place at locally at The Auditorium, The Esk Building, Angus Centre for Enterprise, Dundee and Angus College Keptie Road, Arbroath, on Thursday, March 6, 7 to 9 p.m.
The Rural Tayside LEADER programme 2007-2013 supported 127 community based projects in rural Perth & Kinross and Angus and awarded almost £2.5 million to a range of projects that helped improve community facilities, the local economy and enhance the natural and cultural heritage.
Approximately £1 million was invested in 39 Angus projects. The European Fisheries Fund has also supported three projects to the value of £87,941.50, including harbour improvements at Arbroath.
