Englishman Michael Gault OBE achieved an historic feat today (Saturday) when he equalled the all-time Commonwealth Games medal haul record at Barry Buddon.
Norfolk man Gault (60), who came out of retirement for Glasgow 2014, added a bronze to his existing 17 Commonwealth shooting medals in the 10m Air Pistol Men’s competition at the military ranges between Carnoustie and Monifieth.
In doing so he equalled the record of 18 medals set by Australian marksman Phil Adams in 1994. With Adams long retired Gault has the potential to break his record on Monday when he competes in the 50m Air Pistol.
