Arbroath-based dancers Showcase The Street did well at a national dance competition in Motherwell last month.

The group sent three teams to the MAD UDO Street Dance Championships on Sunday, April 27, where they competed in front of hundreds of people against teams from all over Scotland.

The three teams were the ‘Lil’ Leopards’ age 8 and under, ‘Hustle’ age 14 and under and ‘Obedience’ age 18 and under. ‘Hustle’ won third place and ‘Obedience’ came second in their groups.

Fergus Storrier, chair of Showcase the Street commented: “It was a great day out for all the teams and was good to see them all do so well after their hard work and efforts.

“The teams are drawn from young people across our projects in Angus and Dundee and train at our Arbroath building every Sunday.

“A big thanks again to them all and also to Kimberly Walker and Jenna Cooper who supported the young people as well as the many people who supported our fund-raising efforts for outfits and travel costs.”
