THE ARBROATH Round Table helped Santa Claus pay an early visit to the town last week in the run up to Christmas.

The Round Table helped Santa to manoeuvre his sleigh around Arbroath, as the reindeer were taking a break, so he could meet local youngsters over the festive period.

And while on his travels, Santa delivered sweets to the children and also collected money from adults, which will go towards looking after the older citizens of the town.

Over the course of three sleigh rides, Santa and his band of merry Tablers and their families collected the sum of £1,048 from the generous folk of Arbroath.

This will be used to purchase some festive goodies that shall be delivered to care and nursing homes in the area over the Christmas period.

It will also go towards holding the Tablers tea party again in 2013 which catered for nearly 100 housebound pensioners this year.

Every single penny raised by Arbroath Round Table is redistributed to those who need it with the vast majority of funds directly benefiting the citizens of Arbroath and surrounding area.
