The Rotary Club of Arbroath honoured one its members this week who has given the club half a century of service.

Rotarian Bill Lakie received a certificate recognising his 50 years of Rotary service at the club meeting last week. Bill, accompanied by his wife Margaret, was presented with the honour by Rotary District 1010 governor Jim Houston, along with a personal letter from Ron Burton, president of Rotary International. Receiving his award Bill said: “I am honoured to have received this award. I have enjoyed my fifty years as a Rotarian and I look forward to continuing to be an active member of Arbroath’s Rotary Club and helping our communities; both local and international.”
