Angus Council is reminding voters of what they need to do to be able to cast their vote in the forthcoming European elections on May 22.

A council spokesperson said: “We want to make sure that no-one misses out on their right to take part in these elections just because they aren’t registered to vote. Some people think that you are automatically registered once you pay council tax, but that isn’t the case.”

If you’re not sure if you are on the electoral register or would like to be sent a registration form, phone 01307 462416 or visit www.aboutmyvote.co.uk, where you can download a form. You must have registered to vote by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, to be eligible to vote in this election.

You can find out more information about the European election by visiting the Council’s European election pages. Voting is between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on May 22.
