A group of intrepid thespians put life and limb on the line at the weekend in one of Britain’s toughest obstacle course races.
‘The Mudnuts’ a team from Arbroath’s LimeLight Company took part in Tough Mudder 2014 on Saturday at the Dalkeith Country Estate near Edinburgh and raised over £600 at the time of going to press to go into their fund-raising pot for the Arbroath Relay For Life.
Chris O’Mara, Michael Carlin, Michelle Pearson, Shelley Brandie, Claire Jones and Jamie Muldoon ran the 12 mile course braving freezing ice baths, 12 foot walls, knee-deep mud, barbed wire crawls and a dash through a electric wires carrying a 10,000 volt charge as a shocking finale.
It took grit, stamina and camaraderie but the team made it round relatively unscathed, with Jamie and Chris going back for seconds on Sunday.
A recent Ladies’ Night held by the LimeLight Company in their studio raised over £2,500 and this will go into their pot for the Relay For Life.
Chris said: “The Mudnuts would like to thank their fantastic supporters who helped them round the course, as well as everyone who donated and sponsored them in their ridiculous challenge!
“Team LimeLight are heavily involved with this year’s relay, and are doing everything they can to help make it the biggest and the best relay so far!”
