An Arbroath teenager is holding one final fund-raiser to support her life-changing humanitarian mission to China later this year.
Arbroath Academy vice-captain Rachael Smith is travelling to the Asian superpower in August with the Project Trust charity to teach young children for a year and has organised a bingo night on Saturday, May 16, from 7.30 p.m. in the Newgate Bowling Club.
Rachael said: “It’s a bingo night, with a buffet and entertainment. The tickets are £15 which includes everything in the price, as in you do not have to pay extra for the bingo.
“It’s cash prize bingo with the prizes being £10 for a line, £50 for a house and £100 for the house on the last game. The entertainment is by Alan Mowatt - who released his album ‘Moodswing’ last year.”
Tickets are selling well but given the limited capacity advanced booking is recommended by calling 07794388748.
Rachael was tasked by the charity to raise at least £5,600 to support her year in China and achieved her target in April.
