Ten local groups, charities and organisations from Angus and the Mearns have received donations as part of the Business Network International (BNI) Nexus Rainbow Awards.

BNI allows local businesses to connect and develop strong relationships. Kirsten Tomlinson, a member of BNI Nexus, presented the cheques on March 19 in Duthie’s of Montrose. The ‘Pot of Gold’ kitty is added to throughout the year from fund raising activities by BNI Nexus at the Montrose branch.

BNI Nexus are the only group from Business Network International whereby each member contributes to create a Pot of Gold for the community. A total of £1,800 was shared between the chosen organisations in Angus. Recipients include The Monifieth Befriending Scheme, who recieved £200 towards the cost of running their vital service helping isolated people and Abbi Reid, who has cerebal palsy, received £200 to go towards the cost of her post-operative physiotherapy.
