Revisions to the Coastrider X7 bus timetable mean there is now an improved frequency for customers travelling on Sundays.
The X7 previously operated every two hours on Sundays, however, due to increased demand, has begun operating hourly now.
The luxury coach service, which operates between Dundee and Aberdeen, serving Arbroath, Montrose and Stonehaven provides a vital coach link along the coast, providing direct journeys as it is a limited stop service. Andrew Jarvis, managing director, Stagecoach East Scotland, said: “The X7 route has steadily grown in popularity since its launch in September 2011 and we are pleased to increase the frequency on Sundays.
“We will continue to review the service to ensure that we are providing the best public transport option possible.”
The Coastrider X7 route now runs hourly every day of the week. Meanwhile, Stagecoach East Scotland have congratulated 196 local drivers for their achievements in qualifying for the coveted GreenRoad Fleet Elite status.
Nearly 3,000 drivers across the UK have been awarded Fleet Elite status under the programme managed by GreenRoad, whose telematics system serves professional drivers worldwide.
Using a traffic-light LED system on the dashboard, GreenRoad gives drivers instant feedback on their driving manoeuvres, encouraging smoother, safer, and more fuel-efficient driving.
Around 20% of the local team of drivers across Stagecoach East Scotland, which covers Fife, Dundee, Angus and Perthshire, achieved the accolade, higher than the Stagecoach average across the country.
Mr Jarvis added: “This is a great achievement for our staff and I’m very proud of our driving team.
