Work has resumed this week on the Market Bar, in Market Place, Arbroath.
Formerly AllStars, it closed several years ago and refurbishment work was started at the end of last year by Fraser Ogston, who was granted the license for the business at the November meeting of Angus Licensing Board.
However, it would appear that the work now being undertaken has been commissioned by Dundee businessman Jimmy Marr, who owns the property.
We approached him to see if he could say what he had planned but he declined to comment saying that a license application was pending, promising to let us know once the situation had been resolved.
Workmen have been busy in the building all week, and it would appear that a major renovation is underway.
The bar is part of the Corn Exchange building and is adjacent to the Lorne Bar which closed recently and is for sale.
