Angela McCusker is appointed as new chair at Dundee and Angus College

Dundee and Angus College herald a new era with the appointment of new Chair Angela McCusker.

The Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning has announced the appointment of Ms McCusker to the Board of Management of Dundee and Angus College.

Angela McCusker BA, CA, MBA, MSc has over 25 years of experience working in the private, public and third sectors.

After qualifying as a chartered accountant, she worked in the sports industry for 15 years, initially as Financial Controller for Reebok UK Limited and latterly as International Finance Director for Ellesse International Limited, part of The Pentland Group plc.

Since leaving Ellesse International, she has developed a portfolio of interests, including Non-

Executive Director positions.

She spent six years as a Non-Executive Director at The Student Loan Company and currently holds this position with both The Electoral Reform Services Limited and Firstsport.

She has worked with many Boards of Directors facilitating strategic planning and working with them through coaching and mentoring to help them implement their visions.

In 2006, Angela set up Pilotlight Scotland; a capacity building charity in Scotland. Within six months of launch, she had the majority of the corporate sector in Scotland as paying clients. She has recently completed her Masters in Mindfulness.

Angela has also volunteered as a mentor for young people moving from state care to independent living at Saughton prison and ran leadership programmes for social enterprise leaders in Kenya.

“I am delighted that Dundee and Angus College now has a formally appointed chair,” commented Principal Christina Potter. “I am looking forward to working with Angela and the Board in creating a sector leading college for the region.”

Angela McCusker is appointed to the Board of Management of Dundee and Angus College for four years from 4 July 2014 to 3 July 2018. This appointment is regulated by the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland.
