Montrose Museum and Angus Archives are hosting a joint Kenneth M Hay Day on Saturday (January 18) at the museum between 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will focus on the theme of beaches, coastline and the harbour. Jean Duncan, artist from the ‘Changing Coast Project’, who has been working with P6 and 7 pupils at South Esk Primary and first year students from Montrose Academy, will be attending the event.
She has been visiting the beach and making drawings that will illustrate how the pupils understand coastal change and is interested in hearing any stories linked to the Ken Hay photographs and memories they trigger about days out at the beach.
Stories will be shared at an exhibition at Montrose Museum in June to highlight how our coastline is changing. A small selection of other Ken Hay images will be available to view on the day covering a wide variety of eras and subjects. Refreshments will be available.
