This year the Easter holidays will kick off with a bang thanks to Arbroath Town Mission which has organised a free fund day for all the family.
The Big Community Fun Day will run from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the Town Mission at 95 Grant Road.
Activities on offer will include a bouncy castle, face painting, a boxing workshop, big screen Wii fun and gel nail application among other things, all for free.
Dave Webster, who recently took up the post of Arbroath Town Mission pastor, said: “We are hoping for a good turnout from folks in the local community, everyone is welcome.
“This is just one of the ways we want to let our community know that we care about them.
“We are very pleased to announce that Marjory MacDonald Solicitors have generously agreed to support us in running this event.
“It is a real help as well as an encouragement for what we are trying to do in the community.”
When Dave took up the position of pastor at Arbroath Town Mission last August he, his wife Morven and four boys relocated from Westhill, Aberdeenshire.
Since then they have been spending a lot of time getting to know people in Arbroath and as a result a Women’s Community Cafe was started on a Thursday morning and there have been a number of school visits.
A Commonwealth Games themed children’s holiday club has been planned by Arbroath Town Mission to run from July 7 to 11 to tie in with Glasgow 2014.
Sunday services at the Town Mission are 11 a.m. for the family service and 6 p.m. for the evening service.
