It’s the last call for Arbroath residents to nominate neighbours who go above and beyond to be in with a chance of bagging a £500 prize.

Stewart Milne Homes organised the competition to offer one lucky neighbour the chance to be recognised for their efforts and be crowned Arbroath’s Best Neighbour.

Those who nominate or put themselves forward for the award must send a short description, video or photograph explaining why they should win.

Stories can include neighbours who take out the bin when others forget, put salt on the street paths on a cold morning or who is simply always smiling when passing by.

Stewart Milne Homes believes community spirit is at the heart of a home. Fraser Carr, sales and marketing manager, said: “When people come to view our homes at Monarch’s Rise they almost always ask about the community spirit. We believe community spirit is one of the most important aspects for people when they move into a new home and it’s certainly alive and kicking in Arbroath.”

“Our Monarch’s Rise development is in a stunning location with spectacular cliff-top scenery and close to the sea however it is the welcoming atmosphere and gestures of kindness from neighbours that really attract home owners to these homes. We want to find out where else in Arbroath, community spirit is at the centre of our homes.”

A judging panel made up of Lindsay Watson, Chair of Arbroath and Area Partnership and Fraser Carr, sales and marketing manager of Stewart Milne Homes will decide on the most worthy winner.

Entries should be sent to arbroathneighbour@stewartmilne.com. The competition will close on 30 May, 2014.
