An Arbroath mother who has run or cycled five kilometres every day for 50 days ended her epic challenge earlier this week.

Kelly Bennett undertook the 250 kilometre feat, the equivalent of six marathons, to raise money for the Arbroath Skatepark Project Club and the CAFE Project and on Monday night she completed her final five kilometres by bike.

So far more than £500 has been raised and will be split evenly between the two causes. Kelly said: “ I honestly had the best night’s sleep on Monday just because I knew I didn’t have to get up and do anything.

“It has been really hard and really difficult.”

Kelly wished to express her gratitude to Fit4Purpose for their sponsorship and use of their facilities, Jillian Low, chair of Arbroath Skatepark Project Club, her bank of running partners, The Pende Cafe and everyone who donated.

Kelly is still fund-raising there is a collection bucket in the Pende Cafe and online donations can be made by contacting her on Facebook.
