Energy saving set to continue

Help is at hand if you want to reduce your energy costs.

Help is at hand if you want to reduce your energy costs.

A week long campaign aimed at helping people reduce their energy costs has been so successful in Angus it is set to continue.

The ‘Big Energy Savings Week’ promoted by the Angus Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB), saw advice given on how people could save on their fuel bills.

And with demand for advice so high, it has been decided that the dedicated phone line and website will remain open.

A spokesman for Angus CAB explained: “Our ‘Big Energy Saving Week’ campaign was about giving people clear advice on how you can cut your fuel bills. Using this advice can save you hundreds of pounds over the course of a year.

“Throughout the week we held three special events across Angus and had over 100 enquiries. Our stands were supported by an energy efficiency customer liaison officer from SSE, and a representative from Angus Care and Repair and SCARF.

Our thanks go to the Arbroath Library, Angus Voluntary Action and Morrisons in Arbroath for allowing us to use their space.

“It’s really important to let people know that the campaign phone line and website will continue for the next few weeks. So if you missed the information this week, you can still get it.”

Free advice free can be obtained from visiting the website www.bigenergysavingweek.org.uk or 0808 808 2282, and at the local CAB office on Millgate, Arbroath.
