The Arbroath Ladies Lifeboat Guild will be holding a Cream Tea & Annual General Meeting on Friday 9th May, at 2 p.m., in the Royal British Legion Function Suite, Helen Street Arbroath and not this Friday 2 as printed in the Arbroath Herald.

The guest speaker will be Karen E. Hooton, who has reserached the history and mystery of the Arbroath Robe, a spectacular example of needlework of Maritime History and will be revealing its connection with the local lofeboat.
The Robe was commisioned by Thomas Jamieson, a Master Mariner who lived in Arbroath around the time of the arrival of the very first lifeboat in town in 1803.
The 210 year old robe was worn at the Christening of seventh generation James McBain in 2011 Lostock Gralan.
